Paul Ayres
Paul Ayres was born in London, and studied music at Oxford University. He works freelance as a composer and arranger, choral conductor and musical director, and organist and accompanist. He composes mostly choral pieces, solo songs and music for theatre productions, and he is particularly interested in arranging pre-existing music - from folksongs, hymns, jazz standards and nursery rhymes to ‘re-compositions’ of classical works such as Handel's Messiah or Purcell's Funeral Sentences. His work is widely commissioned, published, and performed on both sides of the Atlantic, and beyond. For more information, visit his website.
